AMC Miles Matter Family 5K
Friday, June 30, 2017
Wayne Bunker Family Park, Las Vegas, NV
AMC Miles Matter was founded by the Keeline family whose son, Lucas, was born with AMC in February 2012. Diagnosed at his mom's 20-week ultrasound, Lucas’ parents were told that his condition "wasn't compatible with life outside the womb." AMC Support provided hope, resources and vital information that helped the family during a heartbreaking time.
Lucas is an answered prayer. He is like any typical 5-year old boy who loves playing t-ball and soccer. One of his favorie things to do is to jump on the trampoline. He is an awesome big brother and will be starting Kindergarten in the Fall.
We invite you to join us for the first annual AMC Miles Matter Family 5K. All proceeds benefit AMC Support. To learn more about AMC, please visit www.amcsupport.org.
The Mission of AMC Miles Matter is to increase awareness and raise funds for Arthrogryposis Mulitplex Congenita (AMC) Support, an organization that tends to families impacted by this rare muscle and joint condition.
Arthrogryposis Mulitplex Congenita (AMC) occurs one in every 3,000 live births. Although those numbers seem common, very few people are aware of AMC. The condition involves curved or hooked joints, limited range of motion and multiple joint contractures throughout the body at birth. There is no cure for AMC, but treatments are available to help those with the condition lead happy, independent lives. Treatments include serial casting, physical therapy, occupational therapy and various surgeries.
